Frischmann, David

(1859-1922)
   Polish Hebrew and Yiddish writer. He was born in Zgierz, near Lodz. His first works were written in the spirit of the Haskalah; later writings include satires, stories, critical essays and poems. He also published translations of European literature and worked in journalism. He served as editor of several periodicals and anthol-ogies and contributed to the Hebrew press.
